HKU SPACE College of Business and Finance offers Accounting and Corporate Governance programmes ranging from certificates to postgraduate levels.  Our programmes provide pathways for students to articulate to bachelor degrees, postgraduate degrees and professional qualifications. 
 
We collaborate with international acclaimed universities, local and international professional Accounting as well as Chartered Secretaries bodies.  The programmes offered are taught by a team of experienced local and overseas academics who are able to bring in real-life cases to share with students in an interactive setting.  We endeavor to create a favorable environment for teaching and learning by providing outstanding classroom facilities, teaching and learning materials and a flexible study schedule to accommodate the needs of part-time learners.

This programme is endorsed by the Hong Kong Institute of Chartered Secretaries (HKICS). The aim of the module is to instill the knowledge and key skills necessary for the Chartered Secretary to act as chief adviser to the Board on best practice in corporate governance, and as the catalyst for systematic application and development in the major global forms of organization and to prepare candidates to write the professional examinations of the International Qualifying Scheme, which is recognized worldwide. It is the students' responsibility to determine whether they are eligible to participate in the IQS examination.

The purpose of this programme is to prepare students to sit for the LCC & I Examination of Accounting (Level 3) .
 
Students are required to present final accounts of different enterprises and prepare financial information of the enterprises following the established concepts and conventions.
 
Topics:
Valuation of Stock, Valuation of Non-current Assets, Accounting for Partnership, Accounting for Limited Companies including Preparation of Consolidated Income Statement and Consolidated Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statements, Accounting Ratios and Analysis of Financial Statements, Budgetary Control, Introduction to Decision Making, and Concepts of Accounting Framework.

This  course serves for the general public who wants to update their general accounting knowledge either for self-education or work purposes. It provides basic concepts of accounting and shows how a simple accounting system works. the opics will cover general basic accounting concepts and theory.

This course is a 18 hours lecture and provides the most updated knowledge and practical approach for performing an internal control review in complying with the recent amendments regarding the risk management and internal control in the Corporate Governance Code and Corporate Governance Report of Appendices 14 and 15 of Main Board Listing Rules and GEM Listing Rules respectively of the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong. 

No comparable course with such a focus and all-round knowledge on “Internal Control Review".
